I just saw the preview tonight. Looks like the family will escape thanks to some latent power that Alwina has, and Rasmus' love for Veronica has turned to loathing. I am sure she will be saved, just how, we can only guess at this time.
cynically hopeful, I think it was you who was hoping Rasmus would switch sides. Actually, the best thing for him in my opinion would've been to die the most brutal death imaginable fighting his dad. After all, it was he who had resurrected Ravenum as an evil spirit and started all this Ravena mess with Perena's help. So the only for him to have been redeemed was to finish what HE had started. It would also illustrate - for me, anyway - that God never turns His back on even the most wicked of persons, so long as they want to change. That's what I look for in this story, anyway, aside from entertainment: the redemption of the wicked. But I am sure that will not happen because, as Salimbay had said, "Those destined to do wicked deeds will not be able to escape their fate." (Man, I hate that line.)
MOST OF ALL, who really is the ULTIMATE VILLAIN? It's NOT the Ravena. It's the HUMANS if you think about it. The whole war between Mulawin and Ravena was over the tagapatag, anyway. The question is: even with the "balance" restoerd, have humans changed? The bird-men have switched feathers. Have humans shown any remorse yet? I don't think so.
P.S. I think Lourdes will die later on... guess who'll kill her.
