The thought of Aguiluz and Gabriel being half-brothers has also occurred to me since it's an old story for two brothers to be rivals for the same girl. And remember, Pia's character wasn't supposed to die. She just didn't like her role and left. Remember she also told Gabriel she had loved another before marrying Lucio.

Only Gabriel, Aguiluz or Alwina will be the Sugo... if we believe the trailer ("sino sa kanilang tatlo ang sugo.")

According to the teaser I saw, only one of Rasmus and Aguiluz will survive their duel. There's no reason to kill off Rasmus this early because there are few Ravena and Habagat wants to defect. So if he dies, who'll be the bad guy left? Besides, nobody would bother to resurrect him if he died. But if Aguiluz has a mission and he is the Sugo, then there's a reason to revive him, and maybe for the "dead" characters to make an apparition (Aviona, Mulagat, Mrs. Aguilar).
