I think Pagaspas means strong flapping of wings. Use in a sentence, Pumapagaspas ang tandang bago tumilaok. Is that cool? :-)

Lawiswis could be a deeper Tagalog word or some other dialect.

I also think they got the name Bagwis from a movie in the early 90s, of the same title. It stars Chuck Perez (Charles Higgins in real life), brother of director Elwood Perez. Chuck Perez's Bagwis is about a "fallen" angel on Earth that fights evil. He could be a Seraph or a Cherub or an angel warrior or just some winged freak. :-)
